Polynesian Cuisine

Archipelago of Polynesian islands consist of more than a thousand of islands, located in the central part of Pacific Ocean, thousands of miles away from continents.


However, geographic isolation of this area has never been an obstacle for the locals to get a lot of inspiration from overseas cuisines, and to creat a unique combination of local food and recipes with ones used by French colonists, as well as mix of local cuisine traditions with Chinese, Thai and other countries of South-East Asia.


The list of most popular local products used in a food preperation starts with exotic fruits like mango, papaya, pineapple and honey melon, and is also strongly influenced by presence of coconut milk in different type of dishes.

The menu we offer at the restaurant of Elefant hotel is a combination of international and Polynesian cuisine, and we would like to highlight the following dishes:

  • Classic tuna salad with hot fillet of tuna, fresh vegetables, lettuce and soya – sake sauce
  • Nasi Goreng – lightly baked pork in spicy marinade with rice and shrimps served with chicken sate, baked egg and chives
  • Chicken breast stuffed with chicken souffle and tiger prawn served with cranberry sauce and lettuce
  • Papaya, mango, banana pudding ar vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce
